Vinny Dotolo and Jon Shook
Native Floridians Vinny Dotolo and Jon Shook met in culinary school and worked together at acclaimed South Florida restaurants such as The Strand under Michelle Bernstein and Mark’s with chef Mark Militello. Arriving in L.A., they cooked at Chadwick with Govind Armstrong and Ben Ford before opening meat-centric Animal in 2008, and just last year, seafood-oriented Son of a Gun. Whether the duo is serving pig’s head at Animal or alligator schnitzel at Son of a Gun, their style is in-your-face, yet always masterfully prepared.
