In L.A., he sharpened his skills under chef Joe Miller at Venice’s acclaimed Joe’s Restaurant and eventually landed the position of executive chef at Wilshire. Tar & Roses, the chef’s new restaurant, showcases a soulful, ingredient-driven cuisine in a casual environment in Kirschner’s hometown of Santa Monica.
